Pastor Eddie Perez; was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the heart of Chicago’s Humboldt Park and Logan Square neighborhood. Growing up in a culturally rich Puerto Rican community shaped his identity, values, and connection to the city. Eddie represents the blend of character, integrity, resilience, and culture.
He has been a member of World Overcomers Church DBA Encounter Church since 2002. Pastor Eddie started attending church after an invite from his high school sweetheart Kalyn who he met in 2001, shortly after he dedicated his life to the Lord. Kalyn is a Chicagoan from birth and in 2007 they married, and together they have two children.
Pastor Eddie holds an Associate’s degree in Christian Studies from Christian Life College in Mount Prospect, IL. In addition, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling from Texas University of Theology in Euless, TX. Pastor Eddie is passionate about continuing in the vision set before him of leading others to encounter God, be equipped by Him, grow as disciples, and become kingdom laborers who walk in unity and live with the purpose of making a kingdom impact in the community and the world.
Hobbies: spending quality time with family, playing all sports (his favorite sports are baseball, volleyball, basketball, and football), and coaching.
Favorite Scripture: Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
